A career, on the record.
In 1975, the wharf clerks who gathered at the YMCA hall on Chatham Street elected Mr. Azeez their president, and the body they formed became the Sri Lanka Customs House Agents' Union. He later told the story of his working life to the Sunday Observer, from his first day on the wharf in 1947 to the decades that followed.

My own journey with Master Freight began in 2007 when I joined the company at the age of 18 under the mentorship of my grandfather, our Founder and Chairman, Mr. Abdul Hameed Abdul Azeez. While completing my university degree in the evenings, I had the privilege of learning every aspect of our business from the ground up. Those years instilled in me a deep appreciation for hard work, humility, and the responsibility that comes with earning our customers' trust.
In 2015, I was honoured to be appointed Managing Director, and following my grandfather's retirement in 2025, I was humbled to assume the role of Chairman. It is both a privilege and a responsibility to continue the legacy he built while leading Master Freight into its next chapter.
